TRACKING A-FRAME (CAR TOWING RIG)
The “A” frame can be used with our Full-Sized Tracking Vehicles. It is attached to the front suspension of the vehicle being tracked and then attached to the rear of the tracking vehicle. It enables the driver/actor to simulate driving without controlling the vehicle being towed. For Drivers without a car driving licence they must use the Tow Dolly instead of the “A” Frame. Where possible always consider using the Tow Dolly over the “A” Frame as easier to set up and safer to use, as full control of the action vehicle is governed by the tracking vehicle.
Most cars are compatible with one of our universal “A” frames, however for larger or abnormally sized vehicles i.e. small buses or lorries we can manufacture specific frames. These would have to be towed by a larger Tracking Vehicle and thoroughly tested before use.
There are some cars that cannot be “A” framed therefore we need to know make and models prior to shoot. Automatic vehicles are potentially a problem as towing may cause damage to the transmission, meaning it may be a suitable option to use the Tow-Dolly.
The A-Frame will be fitted by one of our Bickers Precision Tracking Driver / Technician.
Generally, this Set Up is 2 Man Crew operation – 1x Precision Tracking Vehicle Driver and 1x Safety man / Technician (Much safer for use, set up and de-rig)
